Roadmap 2026 - Summer / Fall

Define Aircraft for Project

The problem

Our preset database has more than 36,000 entries. Navigating through long lists during your configuration is time consuming and frustrating. Project setup can feel cluttered when unrelated aircraft options are shown. Users need a clearer way to focus on the aircraft they actually fly.

The solution

By defining the aircraft for a project upfront, later configuration steps can stay relevant and easier to understand. This reduces confusion, helps users get started faster, and also opens the door for smarter profile sharing and auto-loading.

MobiFlight Variable Management

The problem

MobiFlight variables are currently not managed in a user-friendly, central place. That makes them harder to inspect, debug, reuse, and share across projects and profiles (tabs).

The solution

A dedicated variable management system with quick access and intuitive controls will make MobiFlight variables easier to understand and work with.

Rework Config Wizards

The problem

The current configuration wizards are still based on the old UI framework. They feel outdated and harder to follow than they should be, especially for users who are still learning the workflow.

The solution

A reworked wizard experience will make configuration steps clearer, more modern, and easier to navigate. With the new UI framework, the setup flow can become more intuitive and responsive.

Support Saitek Panels

The problem

Users with Saitek panels currently cannot use these devices with MobiFlight because they are non-standard USB HID controllers.

The solution

Adding support for Saitek panels will make it easier for more cockpit builders to keep using their existing hardware within the MobiFlight ecosystem.

New Controller Management UI

The problem

Current controller management has flaws and is complex, especially for new users. The process should be clearer, simpler and more intuitive, especially when onboarding controllers, configuring devices, or updating firmware.

The solution

A redesigned controller management experience will make using and configuring controllers straight-forward. It should reduce friction during initial setup and make essential controller configurartion tasks much more straightforward.

Remote Connection via Network

The problem

Running MobiFlight on the same machine as the simulator is consuming resources that should be exclusively available for the sim.

The solution

Network-based simulator connections will allow MobiFlight to run on a separate machine, making more advanced or distributed setups easier to build and manage.
